Thanksgiving '09

We celebrated 2 different Thanksgivings this year with both of our family's. We headed out to Greenville on Wednesday evening to spend a few days with my parents. All of my mother's side of the family came for the day on Thursday. We ate a huge, delicious meal and then enjoyed catching up with everyone.

Here are Kathryn and Caleb enjoying their Thanksgiving dinner. My kids are extremely picky eaters and wouldn't touch anything from the huge spread of food! Kathryn wanted a roll and Caleb wanted a banana. I tried and tried to get them to eat more, but nothing worked. Hopefully one day they will try some new things!

Every holiday we get a picture of Caleb and Kathryn with Pop, their great grandfather. He will be 90 this next year! Of course, Superman made a visit too:)

Here's Grampy and Kathryn getting some cuddles in:

On Friday afternoon we packed up and headed to Litchfield beach to celebrate with Russ' family. We enjoyed spending time with Russ' parents and his brother Greg and his wife Amanda. His other brother Brad and his wife Amanda weren't able to be there because they live too far away in Texas for the time being. We look forward to seeing them at Christmas.

Russ' mom prepared a huge amount of delicious food, so we had tons to eat! Here are Caleb and Kathryn enjoying another Thanksgiving dinner of cheese toast and crackers. How yummy :)

After the big dinner, Papa heated up the spa outside. Caleb and Kathryn LOVED getting to swim for a couple of hours. It was nice and toasty and there!

10 Little Indians

Caleb's class at preschool had family night this past Tuesday night. All of the 3 and 4 year old classes at his school performed a song for everyone and then we went back to his classroom for a special treat he had made for us. Nana and Papa came with us to watch Caleb and his class sing. Caleb loved that they were there! They sang "10 Little Indians" and they did a great job! They all made little Indian outfits out of pillow cases and they looked so cute!

Here's our cute little Indian:

Superman and Wonder Woman's Halloween

Happy Halloween!
from Superman & Wonder Woman

We've been celebrating Halloween for the past couple of days here at our house. It all started on Wednesday afternoon when we went to a Halloween party at Caroline and Roy Austin's house. All of our good friends were there all decked out in their costumes. The kids enjoyed playing games, decorating pumpkins, riding on all of the toys and eating a lot of candy and sweets! Caleb is REALLY into Superman this year and it has been so much fun watching him be into character. He loved all of the attention he got at the party and he showed them all of his Superman moves. Of course, you can't have Superman without Wonderwoman!

Here is Superman and Wonder Woman with their pumkins that they decorated. They were so proud of them. Kathryn pushed hers around in a baby stroller most of the time!

Here is sweet Little Bo Peep and her little sheep with their mom - they hosted the party.

I don't have many good pictures of all the kids at the party but I had to include this one. Here are Eli and Luke, the purple 3 eyed monster and the green 2 eyed monster. Their mom made thier costumes! They were so cute!

After the party we went home to get Russ and then headed over to Nana and Papa's house to celebrate with them (I can't believe I didn't take any pictures with them!) We ate a good dinner and then of course the kids got more treats! Then we headed over to the Curtis' house to trick or treat. This is a tradition each year and the kids love it. They were full of themselves and sugar by the end of the evening!

Trick-or -Treating at the Curtis'
On Friday night, we carved the pumpkin to get ready for Halloween. Caleb gets to choose what Russ carves the pumpkin as each year, so of course it HAD to be the Superman symbol. Russ is very artistic, so he seems to always figure out how to make it perfect! Caleb loved getting all of the goo out of the pumpkin. Kathryn wouldn't even touch it :) They both loved the pumpkin seeds we baked later though!

Here it is making it's debut on our front porch. Kathryn insisted that the pumpkin have a cape too!

Saturday evening turned out to be pretty yucky at times. When we first started trick-or-treating it started to rain. We had to take a 30 minute break inside and Caleb was praying that the rain would go away. Thankfully it did cleared up for about an hour or so. The neighborhood filled with kids and Caleb and Kathryn had a blast getting even more candy and seeing all the other costumes!
Ready to trick-or-treat
Even our sweet Tuxedo dressed up for the occasion. Thanks to my friend Donna who found this Superman costume for dogs and got it for Tux :) He looked so cute!
