Snow Day!

Caleb was absolutely thrilled this morning to wake up to snow on the ground! It was mostly ice and was only about 1/2 -1 inch, but in the eyes of a 4 year old it was a winter wonderland! He couldn't wait to get to go out and play in it. We held him off until about 9:30 this morning and then we could no longer. He just had to get out and play in it. We bundled everyone up and enjoyed running and playing in it for about an hour. Later this afternoon, Russ took the kids back out and they played and sledded more!

Caleb and Kathryn loved sledding down our hill in the backyard on the turtle sandbox top

Russ took Caleb in the frontyard and figured out that he could pull Caleb really fast with him sitting on top of a shovel. They went up and down the street shovel sledding! Caleb loved it!
We headed inside to get out of our wet, cold clothes and enjoyed some hot chocolate with marshmallows! Caleb had to wear his superman outfit of course...

School Day

Kathryn finally started preschool this past Tuesday at Carmel Baptist. She is so excited to be going to the same school as Caleb is. I have had her on the waiting list for a few months now and was thrilled when they finally called me with a spot open! She is going now on Tuesdays and Thursdays just like her big brother. With our baby due in 3 1/2 weeks, this doesn't give me much time to myself, but I'll take what I can get! She loves her new teachers and it's hard to believe she is such a big girl now!

Walking out the door to go to school - Caleb took his guitar for show and tell :)

"Let's go mom, I'm ready!"

"Enough pictures now, please leave and let me play!"

Our Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas full of lots of family, gifts and food! Caleb and Kathryn were SO into Christmas this year, so that made it even more fun. They loved all of the Christmas decorations and lights, playing with their nativity set and the other fun Christmas toys and they loved singing all of the Christmas carols (especially Away in a Manger, Silent Night, Rudolph and I Want a Hippopatmus for Christmas). They were fascinated by our little elf on the shelf, Leon (Noel spelled backwards) who sat and watched them all day and went to report to Santa Clause each night. They couldn't wait to see the new place that Leon was sitting each morning! They also enjoyed all of the fun activities at church to help them understand the Christmas story even more. Here are some pictures of our Christmas:

Kathryn got a new baby doll set with a pack n play, stroller, bouncy seat and play things. Mimi made her a diaper bag, wipes case, bib and diaper for her new baby. She loves it :)

Caleb got a new hotwheels set and a new dinosaur game for his leapster.

Overall our Christmas was very busy, but very fun. My parent's got the kids for this past weekend, so it was great for Russ and I to have a break to clean up our house and go on a nice date :)

God has richly blessed us this past year with so many blessings we can't even count. We look forward to all of the new things that 2010 will bring including a new baby boy to our family! We wish you all a Happy New Year!
