Good-bye Ear Infections!

For the past 3 months, Clayton has had one ear infection after another. It seems like every time we went to the doctor, it was another infection. He has been on 3 antibiotics and we are tired of it! Because we haven't been able to get the fluid out of his ears, the doctor decided to go ahead and put tubes in both ears. We had to be at the surgical center at 7:15 this morning and we were done around 9. Everything went great, but he had a hard time getting over the anesthesia. After a while of crying he finally quit, but thankfully he has been happy the rest of the day. We are thankful it is done and we hope these tubes will keep these ear infections away!

Discovery Place Children's Museam

This past weekend, we went back to our old stomping grounds in Charlotte. We stayed with Russ' parents and visited with them, spent time with good friends, went to 2 birthday parties and I got to work and shop at my favorite consignment sale with some of my favorite friends! It was busy, but we had a great time. Special thanks to Nana and Papa who took care of our children A LOT. The kids had a fabulous time!

On Friday morning we went to the Discovery Place Children's Museam. We met Anna, Roane and Flynn and the kids just played and played. The place was really neat with all kinds of fun things for the kids to do. They had a grocery store, restaurant, submarine, pirate ship, playground, car shop, craft room, farm, boat, airplane, fire truck, train set, huge water table and so much more. This place is new and I really wish that we had it when we were there! To my friends in Charlotte, you HAVE to go! Here are some pictures of our time.

Caleb loved pretending to drive the boat.

Kathryn and Roane worked hard on a car.

Caleb's favorite was a huge submarine. He played and played on this and he loved pretending.

Clayton LOVED playing in this water table. He seriously sat there and played for about 45 minutes!

Kathryn and Flynn loved making food behind the counter at the restaurant.

Kathryn took care of a sick baby in the doctor.

and the girls loved sitting in the big fire truck

Party Time!

We celebrated Clayton's 1st Birthday this past Saturday afternoon. We kept it small, with just our close family with Nana and Papa, Mimi and Grampy and Pop. We had a great time! Clayton was excited that everyone was together and it was fun watching him be the center of everyone's attention!
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Clayton, happy birthday to you!
He was one happy boy digging into that cake!
The kids were so excited for Clayton to open his presents, they ended up opening all of them for him!

Don't tell Clayton, but some of his gifts were recycled gifts that Caleb and Kathryn got a couple of years ago :) He did get a new gift from Mimi and Grampy and from Nana and Papa, so that was plenty!

Here he is with his fun walker/riding toy from Nana and Papa

Here is Clayton with my Pop who is almost 91! We were excited that he came to the party too!

This was the best family picture we could get. Clayton was exhausted by this point and ready for a nap. He wouldn't smile for anything!

We all decided that we would just go ahead and cry with him! He was ready for the party to be over!

Happy Birthday Clayton!

From here...

to here... In only 1 year!

One year ago today our family was blessed with this sweet little Clayton. He has been such a good baby, always happy and easy. He has brought us so much laughter and joy this past year and we are so grateful for him. His big brother and sister still love him to pieces and take good care of him! He is a very busy little boy, always finding something to get into! He is a very fast crawler and loves to pull himself up on everything and cruise around the furniture. I know he will be walking soon! He jabbers all the time and so far he can say ball, daddy, and uh oh. He loves to dance and starts every time that he hears music. His favorite thing to do is chase a ball around a room. He never ceases to bring a smile to our faces! We are so in love with Clayton and we thank the Lord for blessing our family with him!

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!
