Dr. Caleb and Puffs

At Wee School today, Caleb learned all about being a doctor. He made his own Dr.'s bag and hat and he was so proud of it. He couldn't remember the stethescope or the q-tips, but he was excited to show us the cotton ball, the medicine and as he called it, the "Ahhh" (the stick the Dr. puts on your tongue to look at your throat). He seems to be our own Doogie Howser. We just hope that Vinnie Delpino doesn't come knocking on our window!

Look in my Dr. bag!

It is hard to believe that Kathryn is 7 months old tomorrow. She is such a sweet girl and is still so content to do whatever it is that we want her too! She literally just goes with the flow everyday. If she misses her morning nap, she is still happy all morning and then just takes a long afternoon nap. She is so easy and we are so thankful! She is a very busy little girl though and she is constantly rolling, moving, grabbing her foot, reaching, etc. I think she is going to keep us very busy when she starts crawling! She is already rocking on both knees now, so I know it won't be much longer until she starts crawling. She started saying "Da-da" last week and now she says it all of the time. Russ worked and worked with her until she finally said it. He was so proud! Now we are working on saying "Ma-ma" :) She weighs around 16 pounds now and keeps getting bigger. She likes all of her babyfood so far, well all but the green beans. She was not a big fan of those, but I will try them again later! I decided it was time for her to start trying to drink from a cup and eat some puffs. At dinner tonight, we sat her in her high chair and gave her a new cup and some peach flavored puffs. She was captivated by the puffs and worked and worked until she got one in each hand. She was determined to get them and she was very good at it! She gets this funny look on her face when she concentrates and she puckers her lips together. It is too cute! She tried the puffs and did not like them. She cried and cried until I fished it out of her mouth. Oh well, I guess we will just try again tomorrow night :)

Working hard to pick them up!

I don't like this!!! Get it out of my mouth!

Happy Valentines Day!

My Sweet Valentines
I have the hardest time getting a good picture of Caleb. He always seems to give us the silliest smile he can for a picture! Kathryn is really into pulling her socks off and putting them in her mouth. That is exactly what she is trying to do in the picture :)

We have really enjoyed our valentines day today and we hope you have as well! Russ and I were able to go out on Monday night to celebrated our valentines day. He took me to a very nice and delicious restaurant called "Table" and then we went to go see the new National Treasure movie. We had so much fun and really enjoyed our night out. They are few and far between these days! Russ suprised me yesterday with a dozen beautiful red roses delivered to my doorstep. What a sweetie! He really does spoil me! Caleb and I made cupcakes for daddy this morning - special heart cupcakes with lots (and I mean lots) of sprinkles! He was very suprised and very happy! Caleb got some candy and stickers today from his Nana and Papa and Mimi and Grampy. This evening, Russ and I suprised him with 2 little cars - Guido and Luigi (from CARS). He loved them and kept walking around calling them his favorites. He is sleeping with them now!

Visit With Good Friends

Sorry it has taken me a while to blog, but we are finally getting over the sickness we have had around here. It was pretty rough for a few days because we all had colds, but Caleb had it the worst. Bless his heart, he was miserable! I hated it because there is nothing you can do for it. The doctor's tell you not to give any medicine now and of course I wouldn't go against that, but it is frustrating when I can't do anything to stop his constantly running nose, his nagging cough and the conjunctivitise that was in both of his eyes! After many, many tissues, a sore nose and not much sleep, he finally got over it. Although he never ran a fever, it was the worst cold he has had. Kathryn did get a stuffy, runny nose as well, but not nearly as bad as Caleb. Thankfully we are all back to normal now and are enjoying it!

The weekend before last we were able to visit some very close friends who we hardly ever get to see anymore. Andy, Meredith and Austin Nix who live in Birmingham, came to Greenville for a visit with Meredith's parents.. Of course with them being so close, we had to go and see them. We drove up on Saturday afternoon to spend the evening with them. It had been almost a year since we had seen Austin - my how much he has changed! He is 15 months old now and precious! Meredith was one of my best friends growing up (since we were 5) and was my room mate in college. Although we don't see each other very much, we still talk just about every day, if not 2 or 3 times a day! It was so great to see them and play with Austin. We all played for a while at my parent's house and then just the adults got to go out and enjoy a nice dinner. We talked and laughed and enjoyed every minute of it! We just wish that we could live closer to each other. Maybe someday!

The Greatest Show on Earth

We picked Nana and Papa up and headed to the Bobcat's Arena on Saturday morning to see the show on earth. It was a fascinating show - absolutely fun for all ages. Caleb was so excited he could hardly stand it. He couldn't wait to see the elephants, the tigers and the silly clowns. He didn't really know what to expect and it was funny watching his reaction to everything. He was impressed that everything was real and not pretend! I kept finding myself getting very nervous for the circus performers. They all seem to have no fear! Caleb loved all of it, but his favorite part was the elephants and the dog show. They really did have some amazing acts ~ I was very impressed with the tigers. The show ended up lasting about 2 1/2 hours! Caleb made it through the whole show, however he did get very tired about halfway through. He got some more energy after he finished a juice cup. Kathryn was great and she loved watching everything as well. She did take about a 30 minute nap in the middle of it. She just couldn't fight it anymore! We couldn't leave without Caleb getting some fun souvineers. He ended up getting an elephant light spinner, a clown nose and a funky hat. He loved eating popcorn and cotton candy. Of course, what kid wouldn't?

Thanks Nana and Papa for treating us to the show! We had a great time and made some wonderful memories!

Enjoy the pictures!

Free Stroller!

OK, so I like hardly ever win anything, in fact I can't even remember the last thing that I won. That all changed yesterday when I won a free stroller from Chit Chat Baby! I was so excited when they called to tell me. My friend Donna had encouraged some of our friends to register at chitchatbaby.com for a stoller give-away during the month of January. I took less than 1 minute to register just because, but never thought that they would draw my name. They called me on Wednesday to tell me and the stroller arrived on my door step this afternoon. It is a $70 stroller that I paid $0 for! It is a really nice, light weight umbrella stroller which Kathryn will get a lot of use out of. As you can see, Caleb had to have his turn in it to. He really thought it was for him this afternoon and I didn't have the heart to tell him that he was getting a little too big for it! In fact, after we put it together we had to go on a walk. Caleb rode in the stroller and Kathryn rode in the baby bjorn. I guess she'll get her turn in it sooner or later!

This month, chitchatbaby.com is going having another give away for "Bundle Me". Go to thier website to register, you really have a chance to win!
