Thanksgiving Week

We were extremely busy last week celebrating Thanksgiving. We have had lots of family to see and lots of good food to eat!

Our Thanksgiving started out with a performance by Caleb's kindergarten class. They sang turkey songs and did a small play about the first Thanksgiving. Caleb was given the part of the Pilgrim minister and he did a fabulous job. His teacher told me that they needed an animated child for the part. Caleb fit the role perfectly! His line was "Praise the Lord!" and he did great! He goes to a public school, so we were surprised and happy at how they were able to perform a play with Christian influences.

My brother and his wife Stephanie came to visit for the week from Colorado. Of course, we love having them around and hanging out with them. We tried to see them as much as we could! We are so excited to meet their new baby in March :) For months now, Caleb has been wanting Uncle Jay to take him on a REAL hike. Of course, Uncle Jay wouldn't disappoint, so we all headed out to Paris Mountain for a real hike. It was a gorgeous day and we all enjoyed the fall weather, beautiful leaves and fun time together with the family.

After our hike, we headed back to my parents to have a bonfire in their back yard. Jay built a big fire and we roasted hotdogs and smores for dessert. The kids had a blast and we enjoyed relaxing by the fire!

On Thanksgiving Day we went to my Pop's house to celebrate with my mom's side of the family. Keep in mind that my Pop is 90 years old, but he was determined to have the family at his house for the day. We had 26 people packed into his house and it was so much fun! I know he loved it :) We even had a small surprise baby shower for Jay and Stephanie. It really was a great Thanksgiving Day!

Clayton's first Thanksgiving. He ate turkey and sweet potatoes and loved it!

Here is one table with some of my cousins. It was great getting to catch up with all of them!

We ended the night with some family pics:

Russ' parent's came to our house on Thursday evening to help get ready for another big day on Friday. Russ' brother Brad with his wife Anna and their 2 kids came to celebrate with us on Friday. We enjoyed a delicious deep fried turkey thanks to my father in law! We had a great day and loved spending time with them since we don't see them as much anymore since we've moved. Brad and Anna left Saturday morning to go to Atlanta to see the Georgia/Georgia Tech game, so we wanted them to leave Roane and Flynn here with us. The kids loved playing with their cousins, playing outside, having a sleep over on the playroom floor, baking gingerbread cookies, and spending time with Nana and Papa.

Growing Like Weeds!

We went to get some updated pictures of the kids a few weeks ago. Mainly I wanted some pictures of Clayton at 6 months, but also some with Caleb and Kathryn too. The kids did great and we ended up very pleased with the pictures, so I wanted to share them with you!

The photographer put Clayton in a cheesy tie and hat, but he ended up looking so darn cute in them, I couldn't resist!

Gotta love those Huggies Jeans diapers!
