We celebrated Kathryn's 1st birthday this past Friday evening. We decided not to do a big shabang like we did for Caleb on his 1st birthday, but a more intimate family party. My brother Jay and his wife Stephanie flew into Charlotte from Colorado around 5:00 that evening, so we were thrilled that they were able to be at the party. It was Stephanie's birthday that day, so the party was sort of for Stephanie too! The guests included my parent's, Russ' parent's, Jay and Stephanie and Greg and Amanda. We ate dinner together and enjoyed watching Kathryn, well, really Caleb, open the presents. I think Caleb was more excited about the party than Kathryn. She didn't know what to think! Caleb was excited to get more toys to play with. He doesn't seem to care that they are baby toys! Kathryn didn't know what to think of her cake at first, but after some help from Russ, she decided that she really like it! It was a fun night and we really enjoyed spending it with family.

Congratulations to Russ' brother Brad and his wife Anna on the birth of their 2nd child! Flynn McMurray Taylor was born on July 22. She was 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is a beautiful baby and we can't wait to meet her soon!

I saw Ashley Gaymon today and she told me about your blog. Jeni has a little girl and they are in town, so I took her over for a 'play date' with Maggie.
I'm not sure if Jeni is on Ashley's blog, but I am and Jeni's link is on mine, so you can see EB. Her name is Elizabeth Blaine and we call her Blaine, but mostly EB [pronounced like Evie] I would love to see you and your precious children in person, maybe sometime when you are in town...
