For the week of July 4, our family went to Russ' parent's beach house in Litchfield, SC. We always love going there and it is even more fun when the whole family can be together. Brad, Anna, Roane and Flynn drove all the way from Texas to be with us. We loved getting to spend some good time with them, especially since we don't see them much. On July 4 we all participated in the annual 4th of July golf cart parade. Ernie decorated the golf carts and we all rode around the neighborhood with the other 150 plus carts. The kids got to throw candy to all the people watching the parade. Ernie and Dinah hosted a big July 4th party in their backyard that evening. They had around 30 guests, all family and friends and we had a great time. The kids played in the pool, we had a delicious meal (thanks Ernie!) and a good time just catching up with everyone. The rest of the week was full of swimming and playing at the beach. We celebrated Greg's birthday, my birthday and we had a little birthday party for Kathryn and Flynn who were born on July 22 and 23. The week always goes by too fast, so after the beach we were off to Greenville.

On July 11,the kids and I drove to Greenville to spend the week with my parents. I took a Suzuki violin teacher training course at Furman and my mom watched m ykids. I learned a ton at my class and I can't wait to try it all on my violin students! Mom kept the kids really busy. They played outside a ton, went swimming a couple of times, went to the park, had a picnic everyday, played with other friends and more. They were worn out every night becuase they had such a great time during the day. Thanks mom and dad for all the work you did with my kids. They loved every minute of it and I am so thankful that you take such good care of them!
On Friday, July 17 the kids and I drove back to Charlotte to meet Russ and get in the car and drive 6 1/2 more hours to Byrdstown Tennessee. My grandfather had a suprise 90th birthday party on Saturday, so of course we had to be there. We got in around midnight on Friday night and then Caleb and Kathryn were up and ready to go at 5:45! Again, my parents stepped in to help and took the kids so Russ and I could sleep a little more. The party was on Saturday afternoon, so we had a great time getting to see all of my family and celebrating with my grandfather. I am so blessed to have a grandfather who is 90, grandmother who is 88 and another grandfather who is 89! After the party, we drove to Kingston, TN to spend the night with Russ' grandmother. It was fun getting to just spend some good time with her. She is such a good host and we woke up to a yummy breakfast of eggs, biscuits, country ham, bacon and fruit. It was delicious. The kids had a great time and the highlight of Great Grandma's was getting to pick tomotoes from her garden!
We left on Sunday afternoon and needless to say, were glad to be back in our beds that night!
