We have him enrolled in an elementary school in Simpsonville, SC and we couldn't be happier with the school. We are so thankful that God worked it all out for us. I have been really stressed over the past few months as we have tried to plan on where Caleb was going to school. I just had to put it in God's hands and trust that He would work it out. Of course He did! We were able to sell our house, put a contract on a new house and enroll him in the public school up the road, just in the nick of time. We love the school and were so happy to hear that the principal is a very strong Christian. In fact, he was the principal at a Christian school in Greenville for years before he went to Oakview and we have heard great things about him!
This afternoon we took Caleb to see the school and meet his new teacher. He was fascinated with how big the school was and how many kids were going to go there. I was very nervous about what his teacher was going to be like, but I shouldn't have been. She is young, sweet, very educated and seems like the perfect kindergarten teacher! I know that Caleb is really going to like her as well as the assistent teacher. He loved looking around his new classroom and he's ready to start on Monday. I just don't think that I'm ready yet :(
Here he is standing in front of his new cubby
He loved the fact that they have turtles in a tank his classroom. He is going to have fun with those!
I wish I had a good picture of him with his new teacher, but unfortunately the picture I took did not turn out well. I'm sure I'll get some more though in the future!
After meeting his teacher, we went back to my parent's house to swim. Yes, I said it, swim! My parents have literally talked for years about building a pool in their backyard. My grandparents had a pool when I was growing up and I have so many memories of time spent with the family there. After much discussion, planning, changing their minds many times and such over the past years, my parents decided to just do it! They signed the contract a few weeks ago and now the pool is done! It is beautiful and the kids were thrilled to get to swim in it for the first time. We are all going to enjoy it. It certainly brought back many memories of swimming at Grandma and Pop Hunt's house. In fact, my 90 year old Pop came over this afternoon to watch the kids swim. He never wanted to swim in his own pool, but he always sat and watched the grandkids swim for hours on end :) It took me back to when I was little girl.
I just hope my children will one day realize how incredibly blessed they are. They have grandparents who love them dearly, take great care of them and spoil them rotten. The kids always have so much fun when they are with them. Their Nana and Papa have a beach house with a pool! They are definitely little water babies now!
