Visiting the Greats

This past weekend we went to Kingston, Tennessee to celebrate Grandpa Winter's (Russ' grandfathers) 80th birthday on Saturday. We drove down on Friday evening. It took us a while to get there because of all the stops that we had to make. We stopped for dinner and then 2 more times for Caleb to use the bathroom. We are so glad that he is fully potty trained now, but we have to find a bathroom fast when he has
to go! We arrived at my grandparents house around 11:15 that night. We came in, said our hello's and then went to bed.

On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a nice breakfast with my grandparents. They really enjoyed seeing Caleb and Kathryn. My grandfather is 88 and my grandmother is 86 at the end of this month. They are one of the sweetest couples you will ever meet. They have been married for 60 + years and are more in love now then ever. They have a model Christian marriage and I pray that Russ and I will be as blessed as they are in 55 more years!

Around 11:00 we left for the birthday luncheon for Russ' grandfather. Grandpa Winter's turned 80 on Saturday and all of Russ' mothers side of the family gathered at Kingston First Baptist church for a birthday luncheon. It was so great to see everyone and be there for the special event. Caleb had a blast playing with his 2nd cousins, Micah and Carson. They are twins and they are 2 years old. They played basketball, pushed trucks and ran around the gym that the luncheon was in. He was absolutely exhausted after it was over.

After the luncheon we went to Grandma Rose's house to spend the afternoon. She was excited to meet Kathryn and to see how much Caleb has grown. We spent some time with Russ' parents, Greg, Brad, Anna and Roane. Roane is 9 months old now and is such a sweet little boy. It was fun watching he and Caleb play. We were able to get all 3 children to nap at the same time which was a big blessing! We ate pizza for dinner and then went back to my grandparent's house to spend the evening with them.

On Sunday morning, we packed up the car, said our goodbye's to my grandparents and then headed over to Grandma Rose's house for a big breakfast. Russ' Aunt Sally, Uncle Bo and Uncle Allen were all there. We enjoyed getting to see them. We left for Charlotte around 12:30 and got back home around 5:30. It was an uneventful trip back thankfully and we were exhausted. Here our some pictures of our trip!
