On Sunday, July 1 we went to a big 4th of July celebration at Horizon Church (my parent's) in Greenville, SC. We had a great time and enjoyed being with Mimi and Grampy. This is a big outreach to the community and it is held behind the church. There were around 3,000 people there and it was amazing! It just gets bigger and bigger every year. We arrived around 6:30 pm and Caleb got to spend a lot of time jumping around in the bounce houses that were there. Of course he LOVED that. We ate hotdogs, chips and cookies for dinner and then treated ourselves to a snow cone for dessert. The music started up at 7:00 and was great. The church's band did the music and they were wonderful. Mimi sang the Star Spangled Banner and then later my dad sang a song with the band. They were really good and we always enjoy listening to them sing. At around 9:40 the fireworks started up and went on for at least 15 minutes straight. They were the best that I have ever seen. One of my parent's best friends loves fireworks and every year he buys them all and puts on the show. It was really fantastic. Caleb was absolutely exhausted by this point and liked them for the first 30 seconds or so, but then they started to scare him because they were so loud. He didn't cry, he just wanted to lay his head on Daddy's shoulder and close his eyes. He kept them closed really tight and he wasn't asleep. It was hilarious! He talked about them for at least 3 days after that. He said they were loud and scary! We left after the show and drove back to Charlotte, very tired. It was a great way to celebrate the 4th of July and we really enjoyed it!
Caleb and Grampy after lots of jumping around!

Caleb watching the fireworks and just starting to be afraid of them. He really didn't like them!

Caleb decided he would just close his eyes and lay down on Daddy's shoulder. This is how he watched the rest of the show. What a shame because we really thought he would like them!
